American Legion Post 942 is proud to support local students pursuing higher education through our annual scholarship program. We recognize the sacrifices made by military families and are committed to helping students achieve their educational and career goals.
Our scholarship program is designed to reward academic achievement, community involvement, leadership, and dedication to service.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:

Be a graduating senior during the 2026 school year.

Have a family member who is a veteran with an Honorable Discharge from any branch of the United States Military, including:

Army
-
Navy
-
Air Force
-
Marine Corps
-
Coast Guard
-
-
Eligible veteran family members may include:
-
Father
-
Mother
-
Grandparent
-
Aunt
-
Uncle
-
Cousin
-
Other qualifying relatives

Provide proof of military service through a DD-214 or discharge certificate.

ROTC members are also encouraged to apply.

Essay Requirement
Applicants must submit a one-page essay explaining:
"What is the mission of The American Legion, and what does the organization mean to you?"
